Dan Walters is a change agent. He has 30 years experience leading strategic change with executives, government officials, health care providers, engineers, scientists, and non-profit leaders working in demanding cross cultural environments both at home and abroad. Serving as chief of staff, advisor, coach and confidant to executives, Dan has successfully led numerous multidisciplinary teams responsible for major change initiatives.

Dan has a passion and talent for large scale change initiatives with diverse and oftentimes adversarial stakeholders. He has a unique ability to convene diverse stakeholder groups so they can identify their desired results, tell the brutal truth about current reality, and create high leverage actions that will close the gap between. His goal is to create a discipline of change that keeps things moving forward.

Health Care

He has worked closely with health care leaders, hospital teams, professional societies, executive teams, government agencies and non-profits to:

  • implement successful improvement initiatives in critical hospital processes
  • implement work groups across medical societies and state agencies
  • reach consensus on collaborate legislative agendas with health care leaders and business executives
  • Create strategic plans and link them to day to day activities
  • train leaders at all levels

Prior to beginning his consulting career, Dan had extensive experience in change management and leadership development in the Middle East. He worked with Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, as chief of staff to corporate executives in engineering, research, construction, logistics, and supply chain management. In this role he was involved in all phases of corporate change and leadership development.

Planning

Dan has been responsible for all aspects of strategic planning, budgeting and accountability for large international industrial service organizations. He has:

  • Designed and facilitated an innovative planning session whereby 800 technical leaders engaged in conversations around shared vision and high leverage improvements.
  • Created and conducted line-of-sight seminars which aligned day to day activities with strategic goals for leaders in engineering, R&D, construction, aviation, and supply chain management.

Leadership Development and Technical Training

Dan led succession planning and leadership development for 600 international leaders. He was instrumental in the establishment of an assessment center process for the early identification of executive talent. He has successfully managed one of the world’s largest privately operated professional development programs for engineers and scientists consisting of over 120 courses serving 4,500 participants annually.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA from Texas A&M University. He and Lynda, his wife of 36 years, live in Austin, Texas. They have three grown children and have recently celebrated the arrival of their first grandchild.
